Attey Ka Chilla (Wheat flour Pancake)

Wheat Flour pancake (chilla) is one the easiest and healthy food you can have any time.

This recipe is fast to cook, good to eat food recipe with minimum ingredients which are available in every Indian house. You can have them in morning breakfast or in dinner time, if you want to go with food which is light and easy to digest.

Making pancakes from wheat flour, you need little practice, and best part, if you've never tried before, make it on nonstick tava.

The batter which you make should be of dropping consistency and not very thick, its like very similar to dosa batter.

Just to make it light, I'm using minimum ingredients like wheat flour, salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder.

But to make it more tasty and crispy you can also add 1tsp gram flour (besan) and 1tsp semolina (sooji).

Ingredients: For making5-6 chillas

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour (Atta)
  • 1 tsp Semolina (sooji) optional
  • 1-2 tsp Gram flour (besan) optional
  • 1-2 Green chillies as per your taste
  • ½ tsp turmeric Powder
  • 1 handful of chopped, fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water to make batter
  • Cooking oil

Action

◾Make batter of dropping consistency

In a bowl add all the ingredients and make a smooth batter that and it is quite smooth and free flowing.

◾Cooking Time

Now Heat griddle or any non stick frying pan and rub oil on it. Pour a ladle full of batter on it and spread it in round shape, by moving your non stick frying pan. Make sure the griddle is not too hot as it get stick and can't move properly.

Cook on medium heat, cover the lid for one - two minutes so this will result in a faster and even cooking.

Apply few drops of oil and toss it on other side after few seconds. When it is done on one side turn it over. If its not easily coming off the griddle or breaking that means it is undone.

Cook on both sides, flipping at intervals, keeping the flame in between medium to low, cook it for another minute and then turn it over.

Serve with green chutney or tomato sauce
