Potato Stuffed Shimla Mirch

My today's recipe of potato stuffed capsicum is coming under fast to cook and good to eat recipes. This is very simple and easy recipe with use of minimum ingredients as truly believe in the concept of making it very simple..

Ingredients required for Bharwa Shimla Mirch Recipe 


✔4 Capsicum - Cut into halves

✔3-4 Potatoes -boiled and mashed 

✔2 garlic cloves (optional)

✔ 1tsp cumin seeds

✔1tbsp lemon juice or 

✔2tsp Dry Mango Powder (Aamchur):

✔1tsp Garam Masala Powder 

✔2tsp Red chili powder 

✔Salt: To Taste

Cooking Oil: 2tsp


✏Step by step procedure of Potato Stuffed Capsicum


Step 1: Mise en place


✒ Wash and dry the capsicum. Trim off the top of the bell pepper, Cut the capsicum into halves. Remove the seeds. Keep aside until needed.

✒Peel and finely chop garlic.

✒ Boil potatoes and mash until smooth.

Step 2: Prepare filling


✒Take a mixing bowl, add mashed potatoes, finely chopped garlic, lemon juice, cumin seeds, red chilly powder, garam masala powder and salt to taste. Mix all ingredients well. 



Step 3: Stuff Capsicum


Stuff pepper halves with this potato filling. Press the fillings inside with the help of a spoon so that sides are not left empty and filling didn't come out at the time of cooking. Repeat this procedure with the remaining Capsicum.


 ✏Step 4: Cooking Time

✒ Take a shallow fry pan, add cooking oil and then arrange stuffed capsicums, first one minute cook on high flame, then cover the lid and cook the capsicum for 8-10 minutes on slow flame. 





✒ When the capsicum turns little brown open the lid, turn very gently and cautiously, so that stuffing don't come out, and cook upside down just for a few seconds. Make sure the stuffing mixture should not get burnt. Turn the gas off when the capsicum is done from both the sides. Serve hot with dal, rice or chappati..

  5. Deeps, stuffed capsicum has come out perfect. I attempted doing this a year back and landed in a dried blistered capsicum. Your s have come out mouth wateringly delicious. I did a dry baking. I will try out this skillet cooking.
