Sabudana khichadi is an Indian dish made from soaked Sabudana(Sago).
This food is mainly cooked on fasting day..
I am using roasted and coarsely grinder peanuts in my recipe. To enjoy this recipe add green chillies in good quantity.
◾Required
✔150 gms sabudana (medium size pearls)
✔2 small size boiled potatoes (cut in cubes)
✔2tbsp roasted peanuts coarsely grinder
✔4-5 green chillies (very finely chopped)
✔5-6 curry leaves
✔1tsp mustard seeds (optional)
✔1tsp cumin seeds
✔1tsp cumin seeds
✔1 lemon
✔½tsp turmeric (optional)
✔1tsp red chilly powder (optional)
✔Salt to taste
✔1tbsp cooking oil
Method:-
Step 1 : Soak Sabudana
◾Wash and rinse sabudana two to three times and then soak in one cup water (40-50 ml) for overnight. Next morning you can see sabudana appears to be swelled up, clear and translucent.
Step 2: Roast and coarse grind Peanuts
◾Roast peanuts on hot griddle, remove skin and coarsely grind peanuts and keep aside.
◾Step 3: Boil Potatoes
Wash, boil, peel and chop potatoes in cubes and keep aside.
Step 4: Mix following ingredients
◾Take sabudana, in that add roasted grinder peanuts, salt, turmeric, red chilly powder and salt to taste.....
Mix all well and keep aside.
Step 5: Cooking Time
◾Heat oil, add cumin seeds, when flutter add curry leaves and green chilies.
◾Saute for 10 seconds then add boiled potatoes saute and cook for 2-3 minutes.
◾Now add sabudana mixer, sprinkle few drops of water, lemon juice, mix well, cook for 3-5 minutes on slow flame, stirring in between. Cook till sabudana turns like pearls (transparent).
Serve hot.
